In my humble opinion, American politics continues to digress and finds new lows to sink. For the most part, why is our choices at the voting booth boiled down to either the lesser of two evils or more accurately, the less evil of the two lessers?
Money, power, and political machinery, combined with our two-party political monopoly of government has meant that we elect so-called representatives that do not look out for us, the people, but look out for themselves to maintain and increase their greed and lust for more poltical power, money, and influence.
On the other hand, on occasion, we see a little silver lining in our nation’s political clouds. And thank God that we still can discover a lot of humor and a little perspective.
Governing and the future of the United States of America are serious matters. But frequently, our politcal system provides us with people who are characters more than leaders with character.
It’s ONLY politics.
